The short version
We verify prices and costs. We report research and label it as reporting. We do not measure devices, and we say so on every page where it would otherwise be assumed.
What we verify ourselves
Prices. Read directly off the retailer's own site on a stated date. Every page carrying prices shows when they were last checked. Reference pricing moves and we would rather show you a date than pretend a figure is permanent.
Landed cost arithmetic. The calculation is ours and the method is public on the landed cost page. The tax rates are inputs you can change, dated, with the source linked.
What we report rather than verify
Manufacturer specifications. Irradiance, wavelengths, coverage — these are manufacturer claims. We reproduce them, we label them, and we point out when a figure is quoted at a distance that flatters it. We do not present them as findings.
Research. We read reviews and meta-analyses and summarise what they say, including their stated limitations. We link the source so you can disagree with our reading.
What we do not do
We do not measure panels. We do not own a solarimeter and we have not had these devices on a bench. Any site telling you measured irradiance figures should show you their equipment; we can't, so we don't claim it.
We do not make medical claims. These are general wellness products, not medical devices, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. That holds for products we earn commission on.
We do not accept payment for coverage. No sponsored posts, no paid placements, no payment for a favourable write-up.
How commission works here

The specific commitment: commission does not buy a recommendation, and it does not buy silence. Where a brand we earn from is the more expensive option once landed, that is what the page will say — the numbers are published precisely so you can check we mean it.
Every commercial relationship is listed on the disclosure page. Brands covered here with no entry in that table are brands we earn nothing from.
Corrections
Prices change, rates change, and we get things wrong. When something on this site changes, the page says what and when.
If a figure here is wrong — a price, a rate, a characterisation of a study — tell us and we will fix it and say that we did.
