Living with it
This is the one you keep on a shelf and take down when your shoulder's had enough. It's small, it's light, and you can aim it at one part of yourself without rearranging the room — which is exactly why it gets used. A panel you can pick up with one hand is a panel that ends up on the kitchen counter while the kettle boils, and that's the difference between a habit and a purchase you regret.
Sit a foot or so back and it covers an area about the size of a dinner plate at useful intensity — a shoulder, a knee, the small of your back. Sit further back, three or four feet, and the 60-degree beam spreads wide enough to cover a seated body. You trade intensity for coverage and the session gets longer, but it works, and it's the trick that makes a panel this size worth having.
It's warm at close range. Not hot, but you feel it, and on a winter morning that's half the reason you'll bother. It's also properly bright — the goggles in the box aren't optional, and you'll find yourself angling it away from whoever else is in the room.
Practical bits that matter more than the spec sheet: it arrives ready for UK mains with the right supply already in it, so there's no adapter hunt on day one. It stands on its own on a table or counter without a separate stand. And it's quiet — there's a fan, you hear it, it isn't intrusive.
